Index of Subjects ------=_Part_47262_14815477.1190595718639 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Content-Disposition: inline Fog Sat. morning and this morning, but fine otherwise. Land-birding not great, but small numbers of migrants around the island. A few Sharpies, Kestrels and Merlins, but no kettles of broadwings seen. Many Flickers. Highlights for our group included - Lark Sparrow at East Ferry Fri, afternoon (Judy and Giselle) 1 Bairds Sandpiper and 1 Dunlin with the more common peeps, Pond Cove 2 Peregrines and a Merlin chasing each other over Pond Cove A Yellow-throated Warbler near N.Point this morning (all too briefly seen) A red and yellow B.Oriole looking just like the ones depicted in this month's Birding mag. article on aberrantly colored birds. Mariner Cruises this afternoon - Thousands of Red Phalaropes, with an occasional Red-necked. 3-4 N.Fulmar. Good numbers of Puffins, Gr. and Sooty Sheawaters and N.Gannets. A few Kittiwakes (but alas, no Jaegers). Tomorrow's winds look more favorable for migration, so no doubt the birders still on the Island will have lots to report!
