Hi All:
=20
Today I took two American Birders around to some local Lunenburg spots. In=
all we acquired 53 species. The best were two northern pintails at Oxners=
Beach. These were both females. We had a female Baltimore oriole at Conr=
ads Island at Rose Bay and a single American Golden Plover. The banging of=
a dump truck dumping soil into the saltmarsh area on the other side for th=
e house to be built there probably kept shorebird numbers low.
=20
We had a merlin perched on the wires at Oxners Beach and a northern harrier=
 was patrolling at Conrads Beach.
=20
Lots of Belted Kingfishers about today with one at Oxners Beach, one at Ros=
e Bay, one at Bayport, One at Mahone Bay, one at Mader's Cove, and one at S=
econd Peninsula. =20
=20
At Fauxburg there were a number of blackpoll warblers moving through. In r=
egards to warbler species seen today, there were a ton of yellow-rumped war=
blers at Rose Bay and a movement pretty well everywheres that we went. Twe=
nty-three common mergansers were at Mahone Bay. All were females. Getting=
back to the warblers, other species observed were magnolia, palm, and blac=
k-throated green.
