Hello June,

I am not familiar with the term 'kettles' in relationship to (I assume) groups of birds? Could you clarify, please?
Also, today, in my backyard, and for the 2nd day in a row, here in Dartmouth, Prince Albert Rd. area, there have been several Garter snakes where I have seen none all summer long. One in particular, and a small one, about 10 inches would not move from its coiled up spot and when I approached it, struck out at me. Guess it just liked its lovely sunny spot and didn't want to be bothered. I just let it be. Must admit, I am very pleased to see them. I always think it's a good sign of a healthy backyard if you have them!

  Cheers!

    Hi Everyone
Favorable conditions today for a hundreds of broad-winged hawks forming kettles near the village.
Lots of sharp-shinned hawks, kestrels and merlins. Also sighted a monarch
