Migration remains quiet here in Kings Co. Yesterday a.m. at Palmeter Woods (Kentville) there were few birds with the best being a Catbird. In the evening of Sep. 13, a Pewee was singing near our home in Coldbrook. I believe the latest I've heard them before was Sep. 11. A few days ago during a heavy rain a dragonfly was laying eggs in the depressions on our deck. Yesterday (Sep. 14) a few Common Ringlets were still in flight. The new owner of this property decided to "sanitize" (mow) the field that previously held large numbers of Ringlets. As one would expect numbers are much less now. Also yesterday Honey Bees were abundant on flowers near our home, outnumbering other flying insects 10:1. Angus
