This is a multi-part message in MIME format. --Boundary_(ID_FjaeOHb1iLpFn4U/Z09R+g) Content-type: text/plain; charset=iso-8859-1 Content-transfer-encoding: 7BIT Al Mickey (visiting birder from Manitoba) and I found a Marbled Godwit at Dottie's Pond, Three Fathom Harbour this evening. We watched it from about 6:15 to 6:45, feeding and preening with Greater Yellowlegs, Black-bellied Plovers and Short-billed Dowitchers. It was on the pond-side shore of the barrier beach, in the same area where the Little Egret was often seen. We made the ID on the basis of size (much larger than adjacent Greater Yellowlegs); very long bicoloured bill, only very slightly upturned; overall buffy colour with richer cinnamon on breast and belly; cinnamon wing linings, seen when it preened. We did not see either the Reeve or the Little Egret this evening. There appears to have been a major departure of shorebirds since Sunday. Still present at mid-tide were 27 Short-billed Dowitchers, 1 Red Knot, Greater and Lesser Yellowlegs, 1 Spotted Sandpiper, several Black-bellied Plovers and a mix of Semipalmated Plovers and peeps. Also Gannets flying past, 4 Gadwall and 25 Common Mergansers in Dottie's Pond, and a Blue-winged Teal in the very small pond in Three Fathom Harbour across the road from Dottie's Pond, near Eric Hiltz's house. Cheers, Susann Myers --Boundary_(ID_FjaeOHb1iLpFn4U/Z09R+g) Content-type: text/html; charset=iso-8859-1 Content-transfer-encoding: 7BIT <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> <HTML><HEAD> <META http-equiv=Content-Type content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1"> <META content="MSHTML 6.00.6000.16525" name=GENERATOR> <STYLE></STYLE> </HEAD> <BODY bgColor=#ffffff> <DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Al Mickey (visiting birder from Manitoba) and I found a Marbled Godwit at Dottie's Pond, Three Fathom Harbour this evening.
