Index of Subjects We were very late getting there, but we checked out Lawrencetown about 7p.m. tonight, where we found several Bonaparte's Gulls, Dowitchers (sp.), 10 Hudsonian Godwits, Bl.-bellied Plovers, etc., but no Little Gull. We met Bernard Burke, who had already checked out Conrad's, but we headed there anyway, hoping that it might have returned from wherever it goes. Checking out the estuary on the left of the road, heading towards the beach at Conrad's, there were several Bonaparte's Gulls, a Black-bellied Plover, Ring-billed Gulls. No Little Gull. We decided to check the beach area, when we saw Bernard walking towards us and pointing. The Little Gull had just flown over our heads and it settled down right where we had been looking! If it hadn't been for Bernard we certainly would have missed it! Thanks again, Bernard!! It was nearly dark, about 8 p.m., and we had only a few minutes to look at it before it flew into the back part of the marsh, back towards Lawrencetown. Very small size, small dark bill, dark underwings when it flew, and rounded wing tips. I was surprised by the dark wing-tips, which makes it a young bird. Lois Codling
