Aug. 21, 2007 - Heather MacDonald, who lives along Avonport Beach right on
the shore, but is not a keen birder, called us at about 4 p.m. to report
that there were HORDES OF SANDPIPERS/SHOREBIRDS/PEEPS (unidentified to
species) flying about over the flats and water, numbering in the thousands.
This would have been perhaps 4 hours or so before the next high tide, which
would have been at about 8 p.m.

Cheers from Jim in Wolfville
