I took a lady around a bit on August 14 from Winnipeg and ran into two nice
groups of migrants. The first was along the Fauxburg Trail or the trail
behind Mahone Bay. I had been there for only a short time the day before
and had a nice group of birds. There were more on the 14th. The group
included four red-breasted nuthatches, one Canada warbler, one yellow-rumped
warbler, four red-eyed vireos, four Black & White Warblers, four
black-capped chickadees, one ovenbird, three hairy woodpeckers, one
black-throated green warbler, three northern parulas, one swamp sparrow, an
eastern wood pewee, three common yellowthroats, one gray catbird, an
American redstart, a ruby-throated hummingbird, one ruby-crowned kinglet and
a few American goldfinches.

The second area was along the Mahone Bay Trail in Clearland. This group
included six black-capped chickadees, a red-eyed vireo, one common
yellowthroat, one black-throated green warbler, two Black & White warblers,
one blue-headed vireo, three red-eyed vireos, two magnolia warblers, three
northern parulas, one blackburnian warbler, one swamp sparrow, one yellow
warbler and a few other species.

In Maitland, Lunenburg Co. on the 14th there were two wood ducks.

At Prince's Inlet Drive there was an arctic tern.

Yesterday on August 16, just past the Walmart in Bridgewater and
approximately across from Cook's Falls there was a broad-winged hawk which
was moulting. There were many feathers missing from both the tail and the
wings.

At Cherryfield I found an American Kestrel and a red-tailed hawk.

Today in the pond beside the turn off to Cherry Hill Beach there was a wood
duck. Various shorebirds were at many locations.

I went to Keji Seaside Adjunct today. It was very quiet with just one
catbird, one alder flycatcher, groups of common yellowthroats, and yellow
warblers. Seven whimbrels were present along with two spotted sandpipers
and a number of other shorebird species which I will sent in for a shorebird
survey.

127 double-crested cormorants were at the adjunct.

We also saw a Northern Harrier.

Nine common nighthawks were at Liverpool.
