Hi, Jane.

I have one hummingbird feeder (the hanging, flat type) that has a little
well in the centre to hold water, which the ants can't cross. This has
worked well for me in the past. I dreamt of patenting a separate little
device to hold water and do the same for any hanging hummingbird feeder, but
delayed too long. Lee Valley now carries a clear plastic device of exactly
this kind, and it works well. The water needs to be refilled after a wind
storm.

Cheers,
Susann Myers
