Just some casual observations on singing insects this summer: I have heard Cicadas calling, but not very many or very consistently, and I thought they were late starting. Crickets have started their rasping, but tonight, for instance, I can only hear one or two individuals, instead of an expected chorus. I did hear a Katydid a few minutes ago while I was listening for the crickets. Jean Timpa
