I had a call this evening from a lady in Charleston who has had an
interesting morning. A lovely bird arrived at her feeder and started
singing. It is about evening grosbeak size and is multiple shades of color,
with lovely emerald and blue. She describes it as looking like a parrot,
but a smaller bill. Likely a parakeet I think. Anyhow, she had a cage in
the basement and brought it out and tapped on it. The bird made a few loops
around the yard, came to the cage and after sitting on top hopped in. She
now has the bird which has a faded leg band. The band is blue with 25LD2 or
the last figure might be an R. If anyone knows of such an escapee and is
looking for it, please let me know and I can put you in touch with the lady.
