Mike, I for one don't like abbreviations where there might be any confusion.
Among birders, "lbb" is a long-established moniker for "little brown bird",
and "lbj" is "little brown job" -- then there is "lbm" for "little brown
mushroom" -- etc.?

Of course, I was referring to a Little Brown Bat. Maybe I'll give up
