Shorebird migration seems to be getting underway and warm water pelagic species are starting to show up. <BR><BR><BR>Midcoast <BR><BR>A Maine Audubon boat trip on July 9 that departed from Hog Island in Bremen covered the waters of Muscongus Bay then out to Matinicus Rock and over to Eastern Egg Rock. Birds of note along the way include RED-BILLED TROPICBIRD, 5,000+ WILSON'S STORM-PETRELS, 100s of ATLANTIC PUFFIN, 100s of RAZORBILL, 3 COMMON MURRES, 40+ NORTHERN GANNETS, 3 GREATER SHEARWATERS, 3 MANX SHEARWATERS, 1 SOOTY SHEARWATER, NORTHERN FULMAR and 300+ SHORT-BILLED DOWITCHERS. It had been taken to the Hope for Wildlife Society in Seaforth.
