Hey Angus - Great pix ! I agree with your determination that its a Striped
hairstreak (S.liparops) .Your photo shows th HW blue spot capped in red
clearly which is a character in determination.

I was fortunate today to find an Hairstreak in the backyard and
managed to obtain a few pics. I think it is a Striped Hairstreak but
a Banded Hairstreak is not out of the question since they are fairly
difficult to identify. At any rate it is a very attractive butterfly
and quite scarce in the province. (Three pics).
