Index of Subjects Hey Angus - Great pix ! I agree with your determination that its a Striped hairstreak (S.liparops) .Your photo shows th HW blue spot capped in red clearly which is a character in determination. Well done ! Cheers , DB -----Original Message----- From: naturens-owner@chebucto.ns.ca [mailto:naturens-owner@chebucto.ns.ca]On Behalf Of Angus MacLean Sent: Friday, July 27, 2007 10:55 PM To: NatureNS@chebucto.ns.ca Subject: [NatureNS] Striped Hairsteak I was fortunate today to find an Hairstreak in the backyard and managed to obtain a few pics. I think it is a Striped Hairstreak but a Banded Hairstreak is not out of the question since they are fairly difficult to identify. At any rate it is a very attractive butterfly and quite scarce in the province. (Three pics). http://www.flickr.com/photos/58321572@N00/922452598/in/set-72157594276151818 / Angus
