We only have one species of true toad in N.S., the American toad, Bufo
americanus, although the name has recently been changed. John Gilhen can
fill us in on that, but the old name is still in the books. You should be
able to find lots of info' on this species in various books, but I recommend
John Gilhen's Amphibians and Reptiles of Nova Scotia, published in 1984? by
the N.S. Museum. Check your library, and/or look in other books or on the
Internet, of course.

Cheers from Jim in Wolfville

Subject: [NatureNS] Toad

Found this toad on my doorstep this evening...we have lots of toads here
in Debert, all usually non-descript, but every year we see one or two of
these ones. Now, I've just set up webshots so I could post this
picture, hoping someone could give me more info on this little
guy...hopefully it works!
