Index of Subjects James and NatureNS, Does your friend know of the existence of the Royal Naval Birdwatching Society? It has been in existence for decades, publishes a journal, "Sea Swallow," and is the rallying point for military and civilian seabird watchers all over the world. He would readily find birding mariners from all over the world by joining, or at least making an enquiry. All the best, Eric See the Society's website, http://www.rnbws.org.uk/.
