WOW! We just stumbled on a whole field of arethusa bulbosa. It was in what I guess would be called a "peat meadow". That is, it wasn't really wet, but full of peat and other mosses, picher plants, labrador tea, etc. There were about a million arethusas. This was on a road which the atlas says goes to "Lower East Chezzetcook beach", but the street sign called it the Conrad beach road. The field was on the left, about 2/3 of the way to the beach. The beach was a disappointment, by the way. It had been colonised by a flock of camper vans, whose song was loud and "country-western", complete with lots of Molson and Keith's scat. Cheers, Jane
