Hi;

Hans' posting about Black-backed Woodpeckers at Mount
Uniacke reminded me that on Saturday, July 7th, I saw
a group of newly fledged kinglets on the road leading
South from the parking lot - the main entrance road.

I studied them for a while as they flitted around,
hovering and giving excited little chip notes. I was
trying to determine if they were Golden-crowned, or
Ruby-crowned. They had no markings on the top of
their heads, but their breasts were very pale.
Finally I heard an adult? giving a distinctive GC
Kinglet call.
