Hi All
This evening was lovely on the river - calm and warm.
There was a large hatch of Mayflies of some sort and
quite a lot of large caddis. The mayflies were over
running water and were oviposting at regular
intervals.
However no nighthawks came for the feed. Must be
something better somewhere. I would have thought it
was a great evening for them.
The toads were thrilling however and the frog croaking
so there was lots of noise.
A mallard brood is hanging around there. I see it
about every evening. Started at 6 now there are 5.
Pretty good survival as the young are getting quite
large. Not every brood survives as well.
