Hello everyone,

Just a reminder that tomorrow night, June 15th is the Halifax Centre
monthly
meeting. The main talk is as follows:

Catching Beams of Light by Calum Ewing

Did you know that Northern Lights, or Aurora Borealis, often occur right
here in Nova Scotia and not just in the High Arctic? Calum Ewing will
explain what the Aurora are, what causes them, how to know when they
will
occur and best of all, how to capture photographs of this mysterious
phenomenon.

Calum Ewing is the Museum Director of the Nova Scotia Museum of Natural
History and a member of the Halifax Centre of the Royal Astronomical
Society
of Canada.

Also, we will be having a slide show to mark the 10th anniversary of
the St.
Croix Observatory.

The main meeting begins at 8pm at Saint Mary's University (Room L176,
Loyola
Building).
