Dear All, June 3, 2007
Today in the yard Alison noticed a tiny Black Caterpillar. I didn't
see but from the description (thread like and hairy) it would be a Gypsy
Moth larva that floated in on a long thread. So after being almost
absent for several years they may be making a comeback.

On the SW wall of the house (white) there were a large number of
tiny pale brown spiders starting to disperse from an egg case. They
resemble young of other years that emerged from Cross Orbweaver
(_Araneus diadematus_) cases and being common around the yard they are
likely to be CO young.
