Hello naturens subscribers- This is a request for your participation in
the "Time and Tide" conference being held in Wolfville this summer. The
dates are 1-5 August, and the venue is Acadia University. We have kept
our registration low for the five day conference, and we believe you
will have a wonderful holiday if you choose to spend it near home. (
Save fuel, also!) The new residences at Acadia are very nice and
reasonable in price, as are the meals. Our program is excellent, with
Harry Thurston, Bob Bancroft, Graham Daborn and other great speakers in
the morning. There will be *field trips* early morning, late evening and
*every afternoon*. We have entertainment each evening, and many special
attractions and displays. The Silent Auction will feature works from
some fine artists, such as Robert Bateman , Alice Reed and others. We
would welcome your donations. (Thanks, Paul, for the Tern carving!) A
Russel Crosby Custom Guitar will be raffled (tickets available soon!) We
still need volunteers, so please consider giving a bit of time during
June and July to help make this a great success for nature.
Participants from away appreciate meeting and interacting with Nova
Scotian naturalists, so let's have good numbers of our own Nova Scotian
naturalists there. It will be peak time for shorebirds, and spring
tides. Please see the website
http://www.Nature2007.ca for a registration form.
Thank you! Joan Czapalay, conference chair
