Yesterday there was a Tiger Swallowtail in our backyard. Today a
Great Crested Flycatcher was singing (well, wheeping anyway) near our property.

A few pictures:
I believe this is a Tachinid Fly due to its hairiness. Although this
group is very difficult to identify to species (or perhaps genus)
level. the marking on the abdomen, unusual for this group(?), may
mean someone will recognize it.

This one, a Juvenal's Duskywing (butterfly), appears to be all black
when seen first. A flash should be used to do it justice but
unfortunately I had only a long lens when I came on it.

And here are a few interesting pics of Parula & Black & White
Warblers plus Tree Swallows:

For the latter click on the next one on the "Birds Set" on the right
to see the selection.

Keep birding but also look down now and then!!
