It was there when I arrived at high tide, and stayed around feeding until the tide dropped fairly low. The egret was much smaller than a Great Blue Heron that was also present. Also noted were black bill and legs, bright yellow lores and feet, shaggy plumes on head and lacy plumes on back. Also rather active feeding habit, using feet to stir up prey.
