Good afternoon, Although no Ruby-throated Hummingbirds have shown up to make use of the sugar water feeders, we did have a visit this afternoon by a BAOR!! This breeding-plumaged male began at the sunflower seed feeder but found the hummer feeder more to his liking. This is a first for our yard and really quite an unusual bird around Halifax in the spring. Around here they are more commonly seen in fall/winter trying to survive at suet feeders and avoiding Sharp-shinned Hawks. I took a few pics which I may try to post in the near future. Sure hope that it stays around for the NSMC tomorrow. Cheers, Bob McDonald Halifax
