This evening I accompanied Dorothy Poole for some owling within her Breeding
Bird Atlas square to see what we could find. We were in back of Milton
along the Mersey River. We were hoping to find some northern saw-whets, but
were not successful, which is surprising considering the habitat that we
checked. We did have four barred owls though. The highlight for me were 15
hermit thrushes along the road. There was also one porcupine ambling along.
Frogs were very vocal with spring peepers, wood frogs and even some green
frogs calling.
