House Finches have been singing for several months in the South end of
Halifax, though they seldom seem to be in plain view. For the past
several days, I've noticed a pair hanging out in the large tree
planters on the south side of the Killam Library, along my normal walk
route home from the office. They are easy to find and a burst of
colour and song to counterpoint the Common Raven's nest in the copse
of spruce trees on the north side of the library. Also, there was an
Osprey sitting in the birch tree on the island in the pond of the
public gardens 15 minutes ago.

Cheers,

Brian
