The adults and larvae feed on mites, aphids and other invertebrates and can be important agents of biocontrol of these. In Canada and its Insect Fauna McE. Kevan (1978) says that there are ~ 25 species in Canada. I think most of the Canadian species are in the genus Chrysopa. I don't think anyone has worked on the Nova Scotia fauna. Here's are a couple of nice pages on them: http://eny3005.ifas.ufl.edu/lab1/Neuroptera/chrysopid.htm http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chrysopidae Cheers, Chris On 30-Apr-07, at 10:43 AM, Jeannie wrote: > Chris, > Hi,you have told me what this is before, but,my memory fails > me.Could tell me once again what it is. > Thank you,Jeannie > http://outdoors.webshots.com/photo/2769427480025930195rglmSl > Jeannie Shermerhorn,Port Hawkesbury > > Cottage....Cape George,Cape Breton > > > jeannies@ns.sympatico.ca _._._._._._._._._._._._._._._._._._._._._._._._._._._._._._._._._._._._. _.
