Thurs, Apr 26 / 07 Wolfville Ridge, Kings Co.

A pair of Chipping Sparrows arrived to join a White-throated Sparrow that
has been here for a few days. Song Sparrows have been regulars for some
time.

A pair of Tree Swallows were seen mid-morn flying over my swallow nest boxes
recently put up. Always a thrill to see their return. More swallows were
seen down the road by an orchard where nest boxes also await them.

Two GBHs were in the D. U. pond beside Hwy 101 at exit #10, at Hortonville,
Kings Co., this afternoon, the first of the season for me. [Jean Timpa
and I could not find even one GBH yesterday (Wed.) in our travels].

Wed Apr 25:

Jean and I did find:

18 Canada Geese in the Van Nostrand Pond in Starr's Pt

150-200 more Canadas tucked in the Habitant River between the Canning
Aboiteau and the village of Canning.

A single Yellowlegs calling near Kingsport.

Two Tree Swallows - Port Williams Sewage Ponds.

A Barn Swallow along with a few more Tree Swallows in Medford area, north of
Kingsport.

Bernard Forsythe reports seeing Yellow-rumped Warblers locally, and a Palm
Warbler passing through his yard, also on the Ridge Rd.

Cheers
Judy Tufts
