I just spoke with a friend who was driving to PEI yesterday (April 23rd) =
about 9 am. As he drove the Trans Canada highway just into southern NB =
between the NS border and the road turn toward PEI at Aulac, he saw a =
lone swam about 100 m high flying past. The bird looked like a juvenile, =
was a bit dusky not really white.

This person has seen mute swans on the water in eastern Canada and the =
US and flying tundra swans in the US. He knows waterfowl but as he was =
driving and given the distance couldn't get a specific identification.

Could this be a free -flying bird from Mt Allison University which has =
some mute swans? Does anyone have any info about this or other recent =
records?

Pete
