I just had a brief visit from a solitary, male, rose-breasted grosbeak, but he did not stay around, being intimidated by the ever present flock of purple finches and American goldfinches. There seems to be an abundance of song sparrows in evidence this year. Ken MacAulay Port Mouton, NS
