New at my feeders today is a beautiful Fox Sparrow. Yesterday I had =
four
Song Sparrows as well, and a large influx of Robins over the past few =
days.
The Evening Grosbeaks are still numerous and the Purple Finches are =
growing
in number every day. There are now about 15 here, and they are mostly
males.  =20

=20

The dawn chorus was beautiful this morning =96 I=92d love to make a =
recording of
it and listen to it during the coldest darkest days of winter =96 that =
would
help cure the winter blahs for sure!=20

=20

I=92ll soon be heading to the marshes to see what=92s arriving. When I =
was at
Amherst Marsh last weekend the water was open and there were Red-winged
Blackbirds, Canada Geese, Common Mergansers, and some other waterfowl =
that
were too far away for me to identify. I also saw a Northern Harrier. I
found a hunter=92s blind that will also make an excellent photography =
blind
for those interested. It is basically a big wooden box that is right on =
the
water=92s edge and has a bench for sitting on and is well hidden by dead =
trees
and shrubs piled all around it. It=92s very easy to miss and once =
everything
is green and lush it will be very difficult to find. Not to mention how
many spiders will probably get on you as you make your way through the =
bush
to the blind =96 that=92s the main thing that will deter me!

=20

Cheers,

Cindy
