Urban parks, gardens, and other green areas= =20 can host a surprising diversity of birds=AD-whether colorful resident= pigeons=20 and adaptable hawks, or far-flung travelers such as warblers and orioles=20 looking for a place to rest during journeys of thousands of miles. During May 10=9613, 2007, the Cornell Lab of Ornithology invites city=20 residents to =93Celebrate Urban Birds!=94 through activities such as= gardening,=20 bird watching, art, and science. These events will raise awareness about=20 birds in the city=ADand help scientists learn how birds use urban habitats. People of all ages and backgrounds can participate in any way they wish, on= =20 their own or with local organizations.
