This afternoon with the warm temp (~15C), I decided to check out the local ponds. Much to my surprise most are mainly ice-covered yet with just a bit of open water and no ducks on them. At the Port Williams Sewage Ponds there were the usual 20 or so Mallards and one pair of Shovellers. Considering they are paired, the latter may be early migrants. Angus
