Hello All, Yesterday afternoon was a great day for studying the gulls at Sullivan's Pond. There were a vast number of them there sitting on the ice, and as well as all the usual visitors such as Herring, Greater Black Backed, Ring Billed, Iceland, there was a solitary Bonepart's Gull in amongst a goodly flock of Black headed Gulls. The Bonepart's Gull was easy to pick out by his smaller size, pink coloured legs and black bill. I managed a couple of distant photos of him with zoom up to the max on my small digital camera, so not great quality, but enough to make out what he was. Then the Bald Eagle did a fly past, and all the gulls took to the air en masse in a wonderful swirling cloud of gulls. Even my daughter was impressed! Cheers, Pat
