Hi Steve
They tend to be more active in a warm sunny location -
that might be a susprise!
They are very abundant almost year round along the
south shore at least. You often see birds feeding on
them. Graves Island, south side is a good spot.
Little Black Stone Flies will soon be out also.
Haven't seen any yet but it will be soon. Maybe they
have a mechanism where they can warm up in a sunny
spot or on heating kelp and they fly for a little
while?
