For the last few days duck numbers have been building up in the corn stubble fields around the Port Williams/ Canning/ N.Kentville area. On several occasions I have seen groups of up to several hundred Black Ducks and Mallards in several locations. This afternoon there was 1 large group near the Gerrits Farm on Middle Dyke Rd. that seemingly took no notice of the Red-tail, Rough-leg and 6 Bald Eagles that were close by.
