I went out to Hartlen Point and walked around the headland. On Devils Island a Northern Harrier was hovering and dove several times into the vegetation, eventually taking off with something in her talons. Common Goldeneye, and Long-tailed Ducks accompanied the Common Eiders on the water. Highlight of my trip were several alcids, close enough to shore to snap some reasonable pictures. There were at least three Dovekies. One briefly landed on shore just a few meters away from me, stretched and took off again. Hope this wasn't a sign that the bird was weakened, however it looked clean and did a couple of dives. The other alcid species were a couple of Thick-billed Murres, again close enough to shore for reasonable photos, not to mention great views in the scope.
