Of the 27 species seen, some highlights: An *American Crow* showing some serious albinism, seen on Orchard Terrace. Almost all of the primary feathers are white. I Managed a blurry photo: http://chimera.stfx.ca/aves/image/american_crow.html At the Antigonish sewage treatment plant, a *Great Blue Heron* flew in from the nearby river, and a second individual was seen at the Antigonish Wildlife Management Area. This second one was flushed from a spruce tree, and it was seen several times more, each time leaving a tree it was attempting to roost in. Also at the AWMA, a *Belted Kingfisher* was actively fishing. Finally, at Ogden's Pond, a *Common Tern* in bright breeding plumage (complete black hood, bright two-toned red and black bill) was seen plunge-diving with a handful of *Bonaparte's Gulls*. I have posted three photos of this bird. Although I have no reason to suspect it is anything other than a common, feel free to add reassurance to this assessment. http://chimera.stfx.ca/aves/image/common_tern_2.html http://chimera.stfx.ca/aves/image/common_tern_3.html http://chimera.stfx.ca/aves/image/common_tern_4.html Bruce Stevens ------=_Part_14729_6136823.1165093960529 Content-Type: text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Content-Disposition: inline <div>All:</div> <div> </div> <div>I managed to get out today for couple hours of birding.
