I should add a few hints to what Eric & Richard have said. It is our
opinion that the Redwing stayed quite close to the property even though we
did not find it until we were there about 2 hours. We searched properties
in all directions quite thoroughly and although we found the birds Eric
mentioned the Redwing was not with them. We were suspicous about it staying
in the holly bush (north side of house) since it disappeared in the bush
and stayed hidden from view for a lengthy period. (This is out of character
for a bird of open fields). Thus it may have been there when we arrived.

Here ae a few more pics of this attractive bird. It is spot on to the
illustration of a winter plumaged bird in "BIrds Of Europe". I believe it
is more colorful this time of year.

Good luck!!
