Friends were at First Lake, Lower Sackville observed some ducks
on the lake but also a bird about 3/4 their size on the shoreline to which the
ducks seemed attracted on several occasions, but were not aggressive
towards it. The bird seemed to be making a noise almost constantly and it
sounded like it was sneezing! It was pale brownish in colour, but myfriends
were not able to determine much more than that about it. It was unlike
anything they had seen there before, and they now the lakes well. Are there
any birders nearby who might be abnle to pay a visit to the lake on Monday
or Tuesday to see if they can see such a bird. It would be interesting to
know what kind of ducks are there, too. Thanks. JET
