This is a multi-part message in MIME format. ------=_NextPart_000_0031_01C710DA.62981F00 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable I recieved and followed up on a report of a Painted Bunting through = Steph this evening and have the following infromation to report! Melissa & Damien Welsh (Stephen B. Nephew) of Grand E'tang (15 min. west = of Cheticamp) on highway #19 in Cape Breaton! They report finding what they "first thought was an escaped pet feeding = on the ground beneath their feeders! Noting that it looked like some = kind of cross between two beautiful tropical birds!" =20 In the follow up phone call to discuss the sighting I was told "it = arrived today @ 2PM and it was approached to within 10' and bin's were = also used, the red of the breast was deeper than the red seen on most of = the images that were seen when a "Google" was done." I asked if there = were any other colours on the bird other than the red breast. The = response was "yes it had a blue head and a striking red eye". I asked if = they noticed anything else and the response was that "the back was all = washed in green and with red down to the end of its wings". They were 100% sure of the ID and it sounds convincing to me! They were unable to get photos or video today BUT everythings ready for = tomorrow with fully stocked feeders and lots of fresh seed cast on the = ground beneth the feeders where the bird was feeding. Birders are welcome to visit and location info is: 12738 Cabot Trail White 1 1/2 story house with a wrap-arround deck between the Church and Post office If you make it to the Post Office (PO) turn around and they're the first = driveway on the left heading west from the PO. Contact Info: Phone (902) 224-2235 E-Mail riversedgeflyfishing@ns.sympatico.ca Melissa was first to notice the bird and a request was made that credit = be given to her for the discovery!
