Index of Subjects Joan Dawson reported a Cardinal (gender not noted) in her garden on Greenwood Avenue in south-end Halifax yesterday. This morning, I saw a bright male in the tangle beside the Wainwright home at the foot of Waegwoltic Avenue. The bird flew west across Conrose Field and the railway tracks, towards the Waegwoltic Club or perhaps the Boat Club. Cardinals turn up here from time to time, but this is the first I have seen here this year. It seems to me that Cardinals have been less common in the south end of Halifax in the last few years.
