The shore has Spotted Sandpipers and Yellowlegs. At night you normally hear a Great Blue Heron calling and in the morning birds sing in the surrounding woods. Idyllic. This island and Covey next to it are being purchased by the Province. I may miss the last minute rush to get one done but its a small price to pay for being ready! This is the island purchased by MICA initiatives. A nice island with a good beach. A nice place to visit. MICA has got the ball rolling - several other islands in Mahone Bay were donated to the public and rumour has it more announcements are coming. Its a great way to get land in the public domain. Hopefully some other places will get involved in the islands close to them. The bay was calm and the usual bay birds were around. Guillemots, Loons, grebes and so on. A flock of Buffleheads were very active. Clangula hyemalis were singing their usual winter songs. Lots of noise. There was another bird calling that I wasn't sure of. Prehaps a Grebe. Have a nice fall Paul ____________________________________________________________________________________ Sponsored Link $420k for $1,399/mo. Think You Pay Too Much For Your Mortgage?
