Nothing new, just more of the same old thing .... Nov. 13, 2006 - Our female N. CARDINAL showed up to be seen by Pat at our Wolfville feeders in mid-afternoon. We donšt see the two of them, male and female, very often, but wešre sure they are regular here, and wešre tickled pink that we are part of their routine. The CANADA GEESE were in the Greenwich corn stubble again today in late afternoon. Nov. 14, 2006 - This morning at my Wolfville feeders there were two appearances of our pair (m/f) of N. CARDINALS: first the male appeared at 8:45 a.m., followed a bit later by the female, but they really were not together, and the male chased the female around the yard a bit; again they appeared separately at about 10 a.m. The male fed only on and under the safflower-seed feeder, while the female foraged elsewhere on the ground and briefly ate cracked corn on the pheasant feeder. Finally, both male and female cardinals have lovely PINK BEAKS, not the much more whitish colour we first reported a couple of weeks ago or earlier? Again the Greenwich CANADA GEESE were close to the highway in the field of corn stubble. Cheers from Jim in Wolfville, 542-9204 --------------------- Jim (James W.)
