I would expect that the hunter was using a shot gun. If that were the case then it blasts with many pellets not one. Think of a hunter seeing a flock of geese and just raising his gun and letting a blast go. What ever is in his/her line of that 'spray' of small bullets would get hit. It would not have been a 'mistaken identity' but just a kill of geese to the hunter. Heather D.
