This is about the time of year we see large numbers of Atlantic Sauries
*Scoberesox saurus in the Strait.  Do your billfish look like

Billfishes usually refer to the sailfish (projection is above the
mouth.  Sauries have the lower part (mandibles) projecting.

I have been waiting for someone to tell us about the large schools of
billfish around the Canso causeway.  On the plus side my daughter says
she has seen the largest flock of  eagles and gannets there that she has
ever seen, but on the other side the gulls seem to be dropping the fish
on the causeway and the place stinks.
         Billfish I believe are a southern fish that are found along
our coast in the summer. I caught one years ago while fishing off the
Cape Sable causeway - it looked to me like a baby swordfish.
