As usual on Saturdays from noon to 1 p.m., I have just listened to Quirks and Quarks on CBC Radio One, and I'll remind everyone that their broadcast can be heard, item by item, from their Web-site -- just type "quirks", Google it, get their home page, then click on Most Recent Program. Also all of their past shows are archived and easy to find, if you know which one you want. As some of you know, I tape most of the shows, then listen to them gradually during the week. Today's show was on Nobel Prize winners this year, then on vocalizations of Luna the lonely orca, and on autism. The announcement about next week's show said they would tell us about climate change in the arctic. Such announcements do not always actually come true; nevertheless, mark your calendar if you are so inclined. Cheers from Jim in Wolfville --------------------- Jim (James W.)
