The South Shore Naturalists' Club will hold its monthly meeting October
11, 2006 at the Junior/ Senior Highschool, Bridgewater at 7:00 p.m.

CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW? HOW ANIMALS COMMUNICATE IN A NOISY WORLD.

Animals are increasingly exposed to noise as urban areas spread into
once wild habitat. Increasing noise levels can be of particular concern
for species that communicate using such acoustic signals as songs or
calls. DR. MARTY LEONARD, Professor of Biology, Dalhousie University,
will describe the types of noise that animals face and discuss some of
the ways in which they might cope with noise in their environment.

EVERYONE WELCOME!
