A few days ago I posted an image of a Hover Fly which Chris M. identified
as Meliscaeva cinctella. He said they were common in NS. I
had found that one on Brier Island on Sep. 15th but yesterday I found
several more in different locales around Coldbrook. Considering we are
probably two weeks ahead of Brier Island as far as flowering plants go, I
should have found that Hover Fly a while ago?!
